John Henshaw appeared in Coronation Street in December 1996 as Irish musician Mick Murphy and in the spin-off DVD Romanian Holiday as the loutish Glen. Born in Ancoats, Manchester in 1951, Henshaw was a binman who decided to become an actor the the age of 40. His first television role was in G.B.H. and this has been followed up by a string of high-profile parts in programmes such as The Royle Family, The Cops, Early Doors, Born and Bred, Life on Mars and the films Looking for Eric and Going Postal.
