| - Thomas H. Huxley, a well known English religious skeptic, invented the term Agnostic in the mid 19th century (sources differ about the exact date). He combined "a" which implies negative, with "gnostic" which is a Greek word meaning knowledge. An Agnostic can refer to one of many religious beliefs. Normally it is used to refer to someone who believes that either there is not enough evidence to discredit the existence of a god but there is also not enough evidence to prove a god.
- The Agnostic can neither deney the existence of the arcane, and spiritual, nor can they devote themselves to one of the divines, or other powerful entities. They are not interested in the study of faith, and prefer to focus on mundane matters. Having an agnostic leader discourages people from spreading their faith, as the religious feel unwelcomed.
- First attested in 1870; coined by Thomas Huxley. Either from [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Agnostic]] ἄγνωστος (agnōstos), “‘ignorant, not knowing’”) or from a- + Gnostic. Deriving (either way) from [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Agnostic]] ἀ- (a-), “‘not’”) + γιγνώσκω (gignōskō), “‘I know’”).
- #agnostic is a term used in #anotherhome to express a tendency to stay distanced from making concrete declarations and predictions that due to a lack in quantity of reliable data would be highly hypothetical and run a high chance of being non-factual.
- Should you choose to not follow a deity, agnosticism is an alternative. It is often the safest alternative to avoid faction problems, but it will not allow good races to enter evil race cities, or vice versa. There are a relatively small number of items that are restricted to a certain deity's worshippers, but these are hardly necessary equipment, and are almost all eclipsed by other gear. Priest classes (Cleric, Druid, and Shaman), Necromancers, and their related hybrid classes (Paladin, Ranger, Beastlord, and Shadowknight) may not be agnostic. (The exception is Vah Shir, who are ALL agnostic.) Iksar and Drakkin are required to worship their racial gods. All other characters may be agnostic.
- An Agnostic is a person who believes that it is impossible to know if there is a deity or not. It is incorrectly considered the ultimate fence and neutrality between theists and atheists. Instead, it is a third side, stating that neither atheists or theists can be correct on the matter. Some forms of Agnosticism claim that there will never be a way to prove or disprove God, gods a life force, spirit, or ghost's existence. They are often lumped into the same category as Atheists, but that could be misleading given the existence of Theist Agnostics.
- Agnostics are either normal folk who "don't know" if they believe in God or "have better things to do" than think about such matters at this point. They don't stand on any side in anything they do, so it's okay to beat them up since they can't decide whether they're angry or upset; they'll just not care. Men like Colbert can see them for what they are though: atheists without balls. Ironically, this means they're gutsy enough to realize that, someday, George W. Bush will be proven correct.

Unfortunately, agnostics are genetically incapable of taking a position - on anything - except that they can not take a position and even that they still can't decide over. This makes them very unreliable during midterm elections but perfect in debates since they won't go for either side of the arguement; and yet, this means that their votes for Presidential Elections have never counted since they don't care what happens. Agnostics often try to say there's no way to attain knowledge of the supernatural using the natural or some such thing in an attempt to defend their view with, of all things, reasoned discourse. The fact that they prefer using their heads and calm words to shouting out raw emotions from the gut should tell you something about these cowards. They lack emotion and will try to give an explanation of their position in the world (which is wrong by the way) with Facts which makes them liberals and deserve to burn in hell for their indecision over life and religion. Shame. We could've used them as soldiers since they don't feel pain. Also, a majority of Agnostic people have Thanatophobia, which is the fear of death. So while we Christians are enjoying our lives, having fun, and knowing that our future is in Heaven, the Agnostic are just worrying about where their vision will go when they die. If you see a Thanatophobic Agnostic person, report him or her to a doctor immediately.

They are often lumped into the same category as Atheists, but that could be misleading given the existence of Theist Agnostics. The weak agnostic is generally considered as fact by all rational people. No matter who you are, you cannot say that there is any evidence proving or suggesting the existence of (or lack thereof) a deity and be regarded as correct, considering that there is currently no proof whatsoever. Weak Agnosticism isn't correct because a book said so (really, what book?), it's correct because it rejects belief as being fact. If it helps, consider the scientific method, but you cannot test and therefore analyze. Should your hypothesis be considered fact? Those that answer "no" are some form of Agnostic.
