The Unggoy and Kig-Yar had reached a mutual agreement in order to prevent their ancient rivalry from destroying their alliance. If the Unggoy didn't take any salvage from battles won by the Kig-Yar, then the Kig-Yar would help the GRM recreate the Covenant. These Unggoy were unlike their ancestors from the Covenant. These Unggoy were more vicious and far more deadly. When the war ended in 2606, the UNSC sent a task force to eliminate the GRM. The GRM fragmented in 2108 in order to protect themselves but were completely destroyed by 2609.
