Its name possibly derives from Project Blue Book, the United States Air Force project with the purpose of studying sightings of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects). When Project Blue Book ended in late 1969 or early 1970, it concluded that none of the UFO sightings it recorded was of an actual alien vehicle.
