Mary Elizabeth Hanford "Liddy" Dole (born July 29, 1936) is an American politician who served in the Ronald Reagan and George Bush presidential administrations, as well as Governor of North Carolina and was the first-ever female Presidential nominee in 2004 when she topped the losing Republican ticket. She is married to former Kansas Senator Bob Dole.
