Apologising, he invited Musashi into his world and learned of the Yakuza's imminent arrival. Posting sentinels around the boundaries, Kotomi soon discovered that the enemy was already here and leapt into battle. The old man fought remarkably well against Fire and Water, evading the former's clumsy attacks before blocking his nerve pathways. Unfortunately, he was severely beaten by Water, forcing him to remedy him. He was then struck by retreating Yakuza gunfire, but the sensei had the knowledge and magic to remove it.

During the second bout against the Elements, Kotomi was again pitted against Fire. Once more fighting well against the former Neo Zeed assassin, Kotomi summoned an energy rod to protect him from Fire's blazing hands. Unfortunately, Kotomi was removed from battle by the Poison Hand Technique, something that promised to kill him within the power. Almost taken from the world, Musashi managed to save him with by removing the pressure on vital chi functions. Upon awakening, Kotomi requested that Musashi stay with the Roofworlders, but the honoured Shinobi ventured elsewhere to continue his mission.
