- Louis Herthum, born July 5, 1956 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is an American actor who plays the role of JD Carson on the HBO original series True Blood. Making his debut on the episode "Turn! Turn! Turn!" in the series' fifth season, Louis plays the role of a werewolf running in the Shreveport, Louisiana pack under packmaster Marcus Bozeman. In a relationship with pack matriarch, and Marcus's mother, Martha Bozeman, there is tension between Louis and Alcide Herveaux, and after Marcus' death Louis becomes the new packmaster of the Shreveport pack. He plays a recurring role through the series' fifth season, and, meeting an untimely demise in the Season 5 episode "Save Yourself", Louis was seen one more time, in a flashback on the subsequent episode, "Who Are You, Really?", in the series' sixt
