Although it originally started out as just a shared cabin space, it quickly evolved into a more formalized society. Human nature being what it is, hunters would brag about their kills around the fire - and exaggerate. After the several brawls over who could claim the title of the mightiest hunter, society members agreed to start logging their kills in writing - though why they thought this would prevent people from lying is beyond me. It didn't. Sad, really. By the way, yesterday I caught a velociraptor.
