The 2017 Mediterranean cyclone season was an above active season, with 23 depressions forming, 20 of them becoming tropical storms, and 11 becoming medicanes, and 6 became severe medicanes, and 2 became super medicanes. Since the Mediterranean is a very small basin, almost every storm affected the land around it; very rarely storms cross basins, but one storm exited the basin this year; Medicane Iupiter. The naming list this year was based off a list of Greek names.
