, Izta ( Izta?) is a Whispering Hound from a small volcanic island in the calm belts. Because of his species he never really knew his parents because Whispering Hounds leave their children to mend for themselves once they're born, this put them at a fairly bad position as a species, as they were in the verge of extinction by the time Izta parents were born.

Because of his species he never really knew his parents because Whispering Hounds leave their children to mend for themselves once they're born, this put them at a fairly bad position as a species, as they were in the verge of extinction by the time Izta parents were born. Blessed with a mutation that bestows upon him near human intelligence he became able to comprehend human speech and communicate back with it's telekinetic powers, which gave the Whispering Hounds their names, much like Den Den Mushi Whispering Hounds can establish temporary sensory links and repeat words they heard before (like parakeets and other birds do) into human minds. Being from a species that were revered as spawns from the underworld by the local tribes he spent most of his life running away from the cults and rituals of the humans inhabiting the island, but one day he got caught and he too was gonna be offered as a sacrifice to what was refereed as the sun god, because all of the underworld spawns were dirtying their sacred land. Barely escaping the cultists Izta managed to fully realize the full powers his telekinetic powers gave him when aiding in his escape, and because of this he started developing his own way of fighting, by sending various messages into the enemy's brain he could make them loose focus or on more extreme cases cause a complete epilepsy due to information over load. But even thou he managed to escape, the hunt did not stop and eventually Izta became the last Whispering Hound alive in the island, being the only remnant of his species Izta walked the island just for his own survival despite knowing sooner or later he'd just die of old age, and with him, his entire species. Later found by the Chrysus Pirate, he was promised a refuge from the mad cultists and a possible hope of finding a way to save his species, as rare and exotic animals can be found all around the Grand Line and the possibility of finding another Whispering Hound that was captured and sold wasn't zero, not just yet.
