From the Wikipedia page [1] Sunbury on Thames - also known as Sunbury - was a local government district from 1894 to 1974 around the town of Sunbury-on-Thames, also covering Littleton and Shepperton. In 1894, under the Local Government Act 1894, Sunbury on Thames was created an urban district of Middlesex. It originally covered just the parish of Sunbury, and added the parishes of Shepperton and Littleton in 1930 with the abolition of the Staines Rural District.
