| - A UFO wave swept South Africa from late March to mid April, which was widely reported in the media. The first observation was made by a resident of De Brug, near Bloemfontein, in the early morning hours of 30 March. A Mrs Erasmus videotaped a hovering light which changed colour. The police was notified at 2:20am, and the presence of the object was confirmed on arrival of the police flying squad. During the daylight hours of this morning, a farmer at Coligny, Mr Pienaar, claimed to have encountered a landed, three-legged craft on a dirt road, which he observed from a 90m distance. The metallic craft rose from the ground after 3 minutes, and departed at lightning speed. This was followed by a report of some craft above Johannesburg, and a nighttime observation, at 10:30pm on 2 April, by five boys on a school camp at Doornkloof, Lindley. They claimed that all their digital watches stopped while a craft was passing overhead and changing colour. On the nights of 16 and 17 April, oval-shaped craft were reported to hover, with minor vertical and horizontal movements, over the coastal town of Stilbaai, in the Western Cape. According to reports the craft disappeared around 3:00am.
