The Dorvain General Election, 1854 was held on the 27th May 1854 to elect the Fifteenth Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 125 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. Samuel Davison was unanimously voted in as the party's new leader and Prime Senator, a role which he would soon relieve in the middle of this term.

  • The Dorvain General Election, 1854 was held on the 27th May 1854 to elect the Fifteenth Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 125 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. Two months prior to the election whilst John Stanley was campaigning for a third term leading his party, he was assassinated by a Democratic campaigner. Tensions over tariffs among other things had increased during Stanley's second term, which culminated in Stanley's assassination. Despite the courts having found no links between the assassin and the Democratic Party, they never recovered their campaign as their party was now seen as sleazy and insecure. As such, even traditionally Democratic areas switched to the Royalists to land them a large landslide. Samuel Davison was unanimously voted in as the party's new leader and Prime Senator, a role which he would soon relieve in the middle of this term.
