The show is run by villagers and exhibit experts from the surrounding villages, and was set up to and continues to provide funds for the Stoke Goldington Village Hall which was opened in 1976. The Show today is run by Dave Chisholm who has been the Rally Chairman since 2000. The events is set on a 40 acre site on a hillside above the village. In the past 15 years, with the addition of new attractions, the show has evolved from being 'enthusiasts only' to target a wider audience who would otherwise not experience our heritage. Both informational and entertaining the event provides the ability to see tractors, horses and steam engines performing the tasks for which they were designed. In addition to the working exhibits the show hosts a large classic vehicle show with examples of motorbikes & scooters, bicycles, cars, commercial vehicles & military vehicles The Country Fayre contains many examples of traditional Rural Crafts, skills of a bygone era which are fascinating to those living in the modern age. It also features 100 market stalls and an indoor craft market. These are supplemented by displays of working animals, exhibitions and walkabout entertainment to keep the young ones amused. At various times throughout the day the older exhibits are invited into the main arena to join the grand parades. The show provides a commentary to assist those watching to understand the history of the exhibit.
