Serra was promoted to Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars. Her skills were such that the Jedi Order kept her around the Temple, instructing younglings how to properly use a lightsaber. She chafed on Coruscant, not being able to help during the Clone Wars, but she did what she was told, helping Master Drallig. Serra also helped Selu with his lightsaber technique, both just by encouraging him and teaching him how to use a shoto. She always used two green blades herself and was confident in the style. She helped him through the final stages of becoming a Jedi Knight and celebrated as one of his best friends when he was confirmed in the rank. Serra was still on Coruscant during the Battle of Coruscant, one of the leaders in charge of keeping the Temple free of battle droids, and acquitted herself well in the conflict. When the Jedi Order was betrayed by Anakin Skywalker and he attacked the Jedi Temple at the head of a clone legion, Serra knew exactly what to do. She met the threat head-on, side by side with Master Drallig. She ended up fighting Skywalker, now known as Darth Vader. Despite her own prowess, she was no match for Vader. Selu found her mortally wounded, as Vader had dropped a heavy stone pillar on Serra and she was lying crushed under it, slowly dying. Selu was hurt, aggrieved, and confused and angry, but Serra told him that his anger was not worth it. She then told him that she loved him, and he told her that he felt likewise. They shared one fleeting kiss before she succumbed to her injuries. She died in his arms after giving him one of her lightsabers, which he took with him after he fled from the Jedi Temple. Her words admonishing him to stay in the light side remained with him for years after her death. The Yanibar Guard named the Ataru-class gunship Serra Keto after her.
