Agasha Toruma was a Dragon Clan shugenja who defected with most of his family to the Phoenix Clan in 1131. Toruma hated Agasha Gennai, the new Agasha daimyo for his betrayal of their former clan. Toruma was soon given rulership of the Mihari province. Around that time Toruma heard about the Cult of Ruhmal, which worshipped Shiva, by means of Kural Rafiq. Kual persuaded Toruma to study about Shiva, but when he became deluded by his studies, Toruma began to believe that Shiva the Destroyer was the destructive half of Shiba, the peaceful Phoenix Kami. This finally led Toruma to respect his new clan because of his new beliefs. Toruma became the highest-ranking Rokugani to join the cult, and he was aware of the plot to completely wipe out the Seppun family. Toruma was killed along with Rutal by
