Unlike most guitars which have bodies constructed of wood, most Ergodyne models (including the EDR260) had bodies made from Luthite, a light-weight synthetic material. The shape of the Ergodyne body is reminiscent of those in the S and JS series. The EDR260 features a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. It employs an HSS pickup configuration (with a humbucker in the bridge position and single coils in the middle and neck). Components include a TZ30 synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez Powersound pickups.
