Synopsis
  • Lois Lane is excited to return to her hometown of Pittsdale where she has been invited to attend the 100th anniversary of the Pittsdale Star, the newspaper that Lois Lane worked at before moving to Metropolis and got her job at the Daily Planet. She asks Perry for the time off and is booking her flight with her sister Lucy when she is told the unfortunate news that a low fog has prevented and flights. Overhearing this, Clark Kent zips out of the office to change into Superman and flies Lois back to her hometown. Along the way she once more attempts to coerce Superman into marrying her, however he manages to get out of the subject when a tractor being driven by Lois Lane's father goes out of control, necessitating Superman to save him. Introduced to the Lane family, Superman stays for dinner and Lois' father invites Superman to stay for the weekend, an invite that the Man of Steel accepts, but says that he has to leave on Sunday at 6 pm. As he is staying around the Lane farm, Superman lends a hand by using his super-powers to do yard work. Afterward, Lois' father pulls Superman aside and asks him why he doesn't marry Lois. Superman explains his duty to fight crime, however as he is in the middle of explaining the situation a local gossip, Mrs. Hagerty, only hearing Superman's opinion of how great a wife Lois will make gets on the phone can the gossip spreads across town. The next day, much to Superman's surprise the local paper is reporting that Superman plans on marrying Lois Lane on Sunday. The two are shocked to find this on the front page, but before they can tell anyone the Lane family expresses their joy of the upcoming "marriage" and the whole town comes to congratulate them. It is here that Superman and Lois learn that it was all due to Mrs. Hagerty's gossip. Before Lois can address the crowd and tell them the mistake, Superman stops her cautioning that to do so would make her family the laughing stock of the town, and decides that he will try to figure out some solution. Try as they might to get out of the wedding, everyone from Lois Lane's old high school sweetheart, to her parents are gearing up for the wedding making preparations and delivering gifts. As the ticking clock reaches the big day, Lois is becoming increasingly frantic about Superman's lack of action on the subject. Just before the big moment, Lois asks Superman what he's done to solve the problem, to which he states that he has done nothing but make a phone call. Sure enough as they are exchanging vows suddenly USAF aircraft begin buzzing the wedding, causing a horrible racket and interrupting the wedding. Superman tells Lois that he called her sister and told her about the problem and asked her to have USAF planes buzz the wedding. As six o'clock tolls, Superman has to leave to conduct his business at the Fortress of Solitude, leaving the scene with Lois -- avoiding their forced wedding, and her parents not made out to be fools.
  • Having been tipped off to the location where TV western actor Huck Benson is taking his honeymoon, Lois Lane travels out to a western resort to cover the story. However, because Benson knows her from past interviews, she has disguised herself by dying her hair blond. Dressing up in cowboy clothes and arming herself with a pistol that is really a camera in disguise, Lois Lane goes out to try and get an exclusive photo of the newly wed couple. While out looking for Benson, Lois trips over her feet spilling the contents of her purse out onto the sidewalk. Two crooks notice her gun and notice her "resemblance" to Lois Lane and decide to hire her in order to make an attempt to kill Superman to get an item worth millions. When the two thugs proposition her, Lois decides to take up the act and agree to help these men fool Superman for the price of $5000. "Dying" her hair black, Lois plays dumb and pretends that she has never heard of Lois Lane in her life. When the crooks have her try to imitate herself, Lois purposely act out of character and foul up their attempts to get her to imitate herself, much to the crooks frustrations. However, when they spot Superman flying by, Lois purposely falls off the balcony of the crooks home and gets Superman to save her. Convinced that "Lois Lane" had "fooled" Superman they carry on with their plan. Arming Lois with a camera loaded with a chunk of Kryptonite, the crooks order her to "snap" Superman's picture, in reality exposing the Man of Steel to Kryptonite, weakening him long enough for them to steal the valuable item that he is carrying. Sure enough when Superman arrives to get his picture taken by Lois, the Man of Steel has been tipped off already and easily captures the crooks and turns them over to the authorities. He then shows Lois what they were trying to steal: A rat that was launched into a space capsule that would have been valuable should the two crooks attempt to sell it to America's enemies.
  • When a logging car jumps the tracks and threatens to dump it's cargo on Lois Lane, Superman is there to rescue her from serious injury. The next day while on patrol, Superman spots a car wreck and realizes that the car belongs to Lois. When he asks Perry White what happened later in his identity of Clark Kent, Perry tells him that Lois got in a car accident when she was chasing after a car she thought was owned by a wanted crook. When Lois returns to the job a few days later she shocks everyone when she enters the office wearing a lead box around her head. She sadly tells them all that she has come to quit her job and that she is planning on leaving Metropolis forever. Worried about what's wrong with Lois, Clark decides to investigate as Superman to learn what's happened. Snooping around Lois' apartment Superman finds a receipt for the lead box that she had made. He also finds the phone book opened to plastic surgeons. He learns from the man who made the box for her head that she had come to him wearing bandages on his face, leaving Superman to believe that Lois was horribly scarred in the auto accident and decides to go back to her apartment to find more clues. There he comes across her diary where he reads an entry about how Lois went to see show hosted by a woman claiming to be Circe, the sorceress of legend. Thinking that the woman is a fake, Lois was shocked to find that the props for the woman's show were real. Caught backstage by Circe, Lois is invited back to her dressing room where she is tricked into drinking a potion that turns her face into that of a cat. To Lois' surprise, the potion works and she soon finds herself with the face of a cat. When people react with either fright or laughter she realized that she had to cover up her face. Superman realizes the truth and tracks Lois down, under the pretense that Perry White needs her desperately to interview a female astronaut. However when Superman brings her to the rocket site, he breaks the lead box and everyone points out to Lois that she does not have the face of a cat. Superman explains that "Circe" tricked Lois with a post-hypnotic suggestion and snaps her out of it. After learning that the events where people supposedly reacted to her face were coincidences, Superman takes Lois out to dinner where he plays a joke on her: When the waiter delivers her meal, it is simply a saucer of milk.
