Synopsis
| - Shang-Chi and the Cat catch two Yakuza agents who had completed transaction of an arms deal with another seller. They knock them out and take their place only to find that the seller has traded the weapons for cocaine. His plan is to sell the cocaine at greater cost and then use the profits to buy back the weapons he sold, thus earning him greater re-sell value on the weapons. The seller tries to kill Shang-Chi, but Shang disarms him and holds him for questioning. But just as it looks as if the seller is ready to attack, the Cat comes in from behind and throws a knife into the man’s back.
Meanwhile, Argus meets with a German chemist named Manheim. Manheim is apparently working on a biological weapon that would make Agent Orange appear tame by comparison. Argus pressures Manheim to step up the time table on production. He wants the virus ready to ship when he attends the NATO conference in Rome.
- Colonel Jody Choate testifies before a Senate committee and confesses towards diverging funds into the Freedom Science Studies Institute, all under the auspices of promoting defense security.
Meanwhile in Casagata, Florida, the Satanic priestess known as Demon has curried the favor of the Man-Thing. Mercenaries Zahner and Montiero try to muscle her, but the Man-Thing is ready to defend her.
At the Freedom Science Studies Institute, lead scientist, Dr. Railsback has been recalled from the project. A government "yes" man named Dr. McDonald has been chosen to replace him. McDonald studies the remains of the late Wilbur Wycombe and concludes that Railsback's research misinterpreted the data required to recreate the Super Soldier Serum.
- A young boy named Frederick Wellman Jr., storms into Matt Murdock's paralegal clinic demanding help. Matt comforts the boy who tells him that he is being stalked by a man named Rick. Matt later changes into Daredevil and scours the city for any possible leads to the stalker case. He comes to discover that there is no such stalker. Fredrick created the dual identity in order to garner attention.
- Roche has kicked Wolverine off a cliff into the river. He is floating delirious down towards Madripoor harbor. In his delusion, he envisions himself being tormented by Roche, Sapphire Styx and Razorfist.
Before long, Jessan Hoan finds him and brings him aboard a small wooden boat. At first, Wolverine believes he is facing his love, Mariko. Within a day or so, he heals from the various wounds that have affected his body. Although Jessan has no cause to remember him, she nevertheless refers to him by name – Wolverine.

Notes
| - * Inquisitor, Razor-Fist, Roche, and Sapphire Styx only appear in Wolverine's hallucination.
