  • The-Swain aka Michael Swain is a popular newgrounds flash artist who is responsible for the Blockhead series, the Mastermind series and the Time Squad trilogy. Swain started learning Flash around August of ’05 after being inspired by David Firth’s “Burnt Face Man” series[1] and in September released his first flash movie, Blockhead Episode 1 . The rapid releases in Blockhead's early days were in part made possible by the flexible schedule Swain had as a graduate student at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Michael Swain has graduated and moved to Philadelphia.

Because of Swain's large role in creating the game, Krinkels was often not in control of when new updates would be released. The Swain was responsible for creating new script and code for any new features. He is currently working on Madness: Project Nexus 2 with Krinkels. Madness: Project Nexus

When animating he favors the brush tool and Wacom Cintiq.
