The first Titles of Nobility Amendment was originally proposed in 1789, but failed to get the support necessary to move on to the ratification process. The Titles of Nobility Amendment was proposed again in 1810, and was passed out of the US legislature for ratification by the States without a time limit. The Titles of Nobility Amendment is the only remaining active proposed amendment to the United Stated Constitution.
