Like her father, she became a member of the London County Council, serving a single term as a Municipal Reform Party councillor representing Hammersmith North. She retired to The Courts, Holt, near Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire. This eighteenth century house had been bought by her parents in the 1920s and given to the National Trust in 1943. She remained the life tenant unti her death, with the trust taking over full ownership.
