__TOC__ Liz Rawton in her early thirties, was unfazed by the usual laddish routines around her in CID. Her humour and guile were her best weapons. She was born in Newcastle and joined the force as a cadet at 18 years. She joined Sun Hill CID as a D.C. following a spell with SO11, criminal intelligence. There, she spent time honing her surveillance skills and experience in undercover operations, which tended to allow her to put criminals away using her brain rather than her brawn. Already knowing Don Beech, a very different kind of player, Liz quickly fitted into Sun Hill, bringing a more unruffled, thoughtful temperament to the team.

  • __TOC__ Liz Rawton in her early thirties, was unfazed by the usual laddish routines around her in CID. Following her harrowing abduction in December 1999, Liz left Sun Hill and was promoted to D.S., taking up a teaching post at Hendon. During this time, D.C.I Frank Burnside enlisted her for her knowledge of Newcastle, where he was after two bent CID officers. Liz came back to Sun Hill briefly to give evidence against Eddie Santini in the murder trial of Jessica Orton in April 2000 and discovered the body of her friend Rosie Fox after an apparent suicide. Following the trial, Liz tired of being away from the front line, and moved to the Serious Crimes Unit where she was promoted to Acting D.I. Liz headed up 'Operation Magenta' at Sun Hill in November 2001, trying to catch a dangerous rapist who was attacking prostitutes. The tough nature of the case meant that Liz had to make many personal sacrifices, including her fiancĂ©, who was fed up with her long working hours. She was eventually successful in tracking down the rapist though, identifying two corrupt officers in the course of the investigation.
