The People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola, for some years called the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola – Labour Party (Portuguese: Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola – Partido do Trabalho), is a political party that has ruled Angola since the country's independence from Portugal in 1975. The MPLA fought against the Portuguese army in the Angolan War of Independence of 1961–74, and defeated the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) and the National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA), two other anti-colonial movements, in the decolonization conflict of 1974–75 and the Angolan Civil War of 1975–2002.

The Diamond Dogs were occasionally hired by the MPLA, although they mostly accepted the jobs because they wanted revenge against Cipher, more specifically their strike force XOF that was led by Skull Face, and even afterwards, simply because Miller doubted the war will ever end and due to Cipher itself still existing. In addition, the Viscount, one of the British co-founders of the PF hired by UNITA, the Contract Forces of Africa, attempted to have the CFA switch sides from UNITA to MPLA to gain access to oilfield rights that the latter party had that he desired, although after his Afrikaner compatriots discovered this, he backstabbed his fellow British personnel and got himself captured.
