It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes minor league baseball team, a Class-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Nicknamed "Oregon's Field of Dreams", it opened in 1997 and has a capacity of 4,250 people. It is located adjacent to Interstate 5. The volcanoes have won the Northwest League championship in 1998, 2001, 2006, 2007, and 2009. Volcanoes Stadium is also home to Oregon's high school baseball championships and local little league teams.
