  • Pottery is an activity in FreeTime. Using the pottery wheel, can raise the Arts and Crafts hobby enthusiasm and create new items. The items can then be displayed in the Sim's home or sold. Sims who wish to engulf their lives with Pottery can find that they can make all kinds of different items. One Sim can make an Amphora, or a Vase, and many more. Designs and colors can be chosen too, plus a cool name for your item! Sims with a higher creativity skill get pottery badges sooner.
  • {| class="box headnote" |- ||This is the article on the item in Pharaoh. If you are looking for the article on the similar item in Emperor, see Ceramics. |} Pottery is a good found in Pharaoh.
  • Pottery can be made into dishes or decorative objects like figurines or statues. It can also be used to decorate other items, like walls, garden edging. Tiles can be made of pottery. Items made of pottery have been found in archaeologic sites around the world.
  • Pottery, defined by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTA ) as any "fired ceramic wares containing clay once formed excluding technical, structural, refractory or otherwise consumable products" The term pottery is also used to describe a technique involving ceramic, whereby it is mixed with other substances such as vitamins, minerals or carbohydrates and then shaped using a specifically designed pottery wheel. Many of the world's top fashion designers began as small time operators in the rapidly expanding pottery industry. It is a well know fact that Calvin Klein began his career by selling his home made ceramic fish statues out of the back of his British racing green Mini Cooper early in the summer of '69.
  • Pottery is a very early technology in most civilization games.
  • The player places the pottery in display case 39 (which is directly in front of the stairs that go to the basement) to be rewarded with 10 kudos. Note that this display case is already occupied with other pottery. The text accompanying the exhibit in the museum reads as follows:
  • Pottery is a non-consumable trade good. While generally inexpensive, pottery is quite heavy for its price and is not often worth carrying through bandit-infested regions for the small profit gained by trading it. Pottery can be bought cheaply at Halmar and Narra, as well as all Sarranid towns in Warband.
  • Pottery are various types of breakable containers that can potentially contain treasure. Like Barrels, they are kicked rather than opened, but do not explode and may contain traps, making them more akin to Baskets and Crates. Urns and Jugs are found scattered in abundance in the deserts and tombs of Lut Gholein. Jars may be easily found on Mount Arreat or within Nihlathak's Temple. A special type of urn is the Evil Urn. When this urn is opened (not smashed like pottery), it may spawn a unique monster.
  • The player places the pottery in display case 22 (which is directly in front of the stairs that go to the basement) to be rewarded with 10 kudos. Note that this display case is already occupied with other pottery instead of a note card. The text accompanying the exhibit in the museum reads as follows:
  • Pottery is the ceramic material which makes up potterywares, of which major types include earthenware, stoneware and porcelain. The place where such wares are made is also called a pottery (plural "potteries"). Pottery also refers to the art or craft of a potter or the manufacture of pottery. A dictionary definition is simply objects of fired clays. The definition of pottery used by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is "all fired ceramic wares that contain clay when formed, except technical, structural, and refractory products."
  • Use clay and other materials to craft goods for all Tradeskills! First you need to use a Pottery Wheel to make the unfired version, and then combine it with a Firing Sheet into a Pottery Oven to get the final item. For example, to make a Small Bowl : 1. * Combine Bowl Sketch, Small Block of Clay and Water Flask in a Pottery Wheel to get Unfired Small Bowl. 2. * Combine Unfired Small Bowl and High Quality Firing Sheet in a Kiln to get Small Bowl. Pottery is useful to make :
