| - Yamiten (闇天; lit Dark Heavens) is the alias of an S-Class ronin and one of the seven Taiyō of Shichidaken. Yamiten's true name is unknown; in fact, Yamiten himself remarked once that he'd once almost forgotten his true name due to never using it. The Shichidaken leader appears to know Yamiten's real name. Yamiten is the right-hand man of the Shichidaken leader, and is—by far—the oldest member of the Shichidaken, and possibly the oldest living samurai. Despite his appearance, which suggests a man in his thirties, Yamiten is well over two centuries old. Yamiten is, by his own account, a "cursed" immortal. While he can be cut, burned, bludgeoned, and harmed in other typical ways, he is incapable of falling unconscious, is immune to the effects of toxins and blood loss, methods of amputation (via an alleged supernatural force enveloping his skeletal structure), and the effects of aging. Yamiten received his immortality from the Astral God, Thanatos. However, the exact nature of Yamiten's "curse" is unknown, and comments by Yamiten himself suggest the true nature of his curse eludes him to a degree. It is worth noting that Yamiten refers to his alleged immortality interchangeably with the terms "curse", "affliction", "condition", and "fate" (the latter in a derogative sense), suggesting a unusually despising attitude and demeanor toward his immortality. However, the circumstances of Yamiten receiving his immortality is still a highly guarded secret. Because of his apparent inability to die, either by age or by force, Yamiten has been given the nickname "Yamiten the Immortal". Under the light of the moon in any phase, with the exception of a new moon, whatever ailments Yamiten may possess, whether they be cuts, poisoning, burns, or anything else, instantaneously disappear—not healing or regenerating—but literally vanish from him. Beneath the light of a full moon, Yamiten is veiled by the moonlight, and is in invulnerable to all forms of harm, contact, or internal and external manipulation, rendering him virtually invincible. According to the Shichidaken leader, Yamiten's "curse" is said to reach its apex during a lunar eclipse. Exactly what occurs, or the effects it has upon Yamiten, is unknown.
