| - Delete: Unnecessary redirect. -- 01:44, 28 May 2007 (CDT) Keep: Slang terms and abbreviations are used by many players; allowing these to redirect to entries titled with the corresponding in-game terminology is one of the advantages that ffxiclopedia's format has over other FFXI database sites. For example, I would not have remembered the actual name of the "Limit Break 1" ("LB1") quest if the term "LB1" had not redirected to it. - Bahabeiya 00:29, 30 May 2007 (CDT) Delete: Unnecessary redirect. --Aurikasura 02:26, 30 May 2007 (CDT) Delete: Slang terms can be added and linked in the Slang dictionary. 02:52, 30 May 2007 (CDT) Delete: This is completely unnecessary, I have never heard Limit Break 1, 2, etc... referred this way ever. Same goes for L1, etc... Now I have heard G1, G2 used before. But never these. -- 08:00, 30 May 2007 (CDT) Keep: I have always heard these referred to in this way, so it is a valid case. Some servers may use this version of the slang more than others, but this one is still prevalent. -- 08:54, 30 May 2007 (CDT) I've heard it referred to as LB1, G1, cap50, and probably a dozen other things. Are we now going to maintain a redirect for each popular variation? --Aurikasura 10:26, 30 May 2007 (CDT) Keep: "Are we now going to maintain a redirect for each popular variation?" Yes, that is exactly what we should do in order to make sure that information in the ffxiclopedia is as easy to access as possible. Not a page, just a redirect. This is what we can do that no other DB is flexible enough to do. (And for the record, I've never heard "G1" etc. for these. There are indeed differences between servers that we should be respectful of... and by 'respectful' I mean not deleting the ones we haven't happened to have heard of.) -Bahabeiya 13:40, 31 May 2007 (CDT) Comment: I think we can all agree that these quests go by two popular monikers. "Limit Break" and "Genkai" (the second being the japanese version). Since there are 5 quests, each is enumerated appropriately. A standard abbreviation would make these into LB1-5 and G1-5. I think all of these should have redirects, as they are standard abbreviations of the standard phrase. -- 14:06, 31 May 2007 (CDT) Keep: I have seen LB1-5 used all the time on Shiva; Genkai not so much but I've seen that as well. I personally typed LB5 into the search box once, and in agreement with the comment above, I believe this redirect should remain. Tahngarthor 23:55, 1 June 2007 (CDT) Keep: Redirect. Looking up Limit Break quests by their corresponding number preceded by LB is rather helpful. I've often found myself searching for Maat just so I can get the proper name of a certain Limit Break quest. Same goes with the other "LB". However, the ones stated L1, L2 etc should be completely removed. -- Cleric-yokiko 09:14, 4 June 2007 (CDT) Resolution: Delete - Put it in the Final Fantasy XI Dictionary of Terms and Slang. I've never even heard of it referred to as this. I've heard it referred to as Limit Break. But put your redirect there. And at Genkai. Not LB1. And no ... do not put a redirect at Limit Break 1 or One, and Limit Break 2 and so on. Put it at Limit Break and have it refer to the first quest in the line. -- 12:47, 22 June 2007 (CDT)
