  • In the storylines that revolve around the real Mega Man games, Dr. Wily usually makes 8 robot masters that the hero has to defeat. These robot masters are always fought one-by-one and often have quirky personalities. They are usually defeated in interesting ways that relate their true weaknesses in the games. * The First Megaman Game Robot Masters * The Second Megaman Game Robot Masters * The Third Megaman Game Robot Masters * The Fourth Megaman Game Robot Masters * The Fifth Megaman Game Robot Masters * The Sixth Megaman Game Robot Masters
  • Robot Masters are the pre-final and fortress bosses in the classic Mega Man series, dating all the way back to the original Mega Man on the NES. Usually in each game there are a total of eight, though in the initial release there were only six. Each robot is fitted with human-like AI, and have the ability to have real emotions and personalities. In each time they fight, it is revealed Megaman does his best to not damage the integrative circuit. As long as it is not too damaged, the Robot Masters can be rebuilt anytime.

The original Light Robot Masters attacked Sonic Man but failed to defeat him, which forced Dr. Light to call upon several of Wily's Robot Masters under the leadership of Flash Man who had opted to abandon their destructive purposes. Joined by Quake Woman, they attempted to halt Sonic Man but were defeated, but escaped greater damage due to the timely arrival of Break Man. Sadly, despite saving both groups of Robot Masters, Break Man was similarly outmatched by the Robian, who managed to activate one of Sigma's Unity Engines. This led to the fusion of Earth 20XX with Sonic's home world of Mobius, and the Robot Masters found themselves teamed up with the Knothole Freedom Fighters. After Sonic and Mega Man were restored, the united group-joined by the Maverick Hunters and Team Sticks-boarded the Sky Patrol to challenge their adversaries. (SU: #76; SB: #8; WUB: MM; StH: #273; MM: #50) It wasn't long before the Robot Masters and their allies discovered that their merged worlds were in danger of being completely destroyed. They were then joined by an unexpected trio of allies against Sigma: Wily, Eggman, and robot-hating terrorist Xander Payne. With intel provided by the three villains, the Sky Patrol set course for the Lost Hex, Sigma's new base and home of his mind-controlled minions, the Deadly Six. The Robot Masters and their allies battled Sigma's Mechaniloid army and did well, only to be taken control of by the inherent abilities of the Zeti. They and the Maverick Hunters, Gemerl, and Bunnie Rabbot thus found themselves compelled to attack their organic teammates. They were freed by the Egg-Wily Uppity Robot Scrambler Cannon, only to come under attack from the Maverick army Time-Cloned by Sigma. Defeated, they watched as most of the villains scattered to various worlds, while a handful were left behind to finish them off. They were then saved by the Street Fighters, and then split into teams with the heroes of Mobius to pursue the Mavericks. (SU: #77; SB: #9; StH: #274 MM: #51) After facing the Mavericks and joining forces with new allies from various worlds, the Robot Master joined in the massive final attack on Sigma. Sadly, their attack on his giant form proved to be the destruction of a mere shell, which broke apart to reveal Sigma's ultimate form. The Robot Masters and their allies were decimated, and it fell to Super Sonic and Super Mega Man to defeat him. Xander Payne's actions resulted in the conflict being erased from history, returning the Robot Masters to their world with little or no memory of these events.

  • In 2004, Optimus Prime is alerted to a disturbance at the gates of Autobot City; a force of Decepticons led by a vicious new enemy, a Tyrannosaurus rex calling himself Megatron and claiming to be a dimension hopper!! Autobots and Decepticons from across the eras have converged on this time to clash over the newly-discovered energy source solitarium! Robot Masters is a Takara sub-line which ran from 2004-2005 consisting mainly of redecoes of previously-released toys with several all-new molds of popular characters thrown into the mix. Every all-new new mold created for the line received at least one redeco, and the line itself was the sister range to the US' own Transformers Universe, except designed specifically to sell smaller toys at lower price points. Most redecos in the line came with new or retooled accessories, including some classic-style chromed-silver guns. The only all-new molds created for toys were of existing characters, (which were really all just down-sized versions of the former characters) and popular ones at that. Optimus Prime, Optimus Primal, Megatron, Starscream, Star Saber, Victory Leo, and Lio Convoy were given the star treatment for new, quasi-TV show-specific playthings. As far as storyline goes, the tale of Robot Masters was told through packed-in minicomics, brief online mini-comics, and DVDs that came with specific toys as mentioned below. At this time, there are no known plans or even rumors to continue the line, althouth a Fan's Choice poll was held at a Japanese toy convention around the line's debut that indicated characters like Big Convoy and Predaking were being considered for the Robot Masters treatment. However, this poll also included the likes of Road Rocket, who actually did get a release in Robot Masters, so make of that what you will.
