Barbara Drake (née Meinertzhagen) (3 October 1876 – 19 July 1963) was a socialist activist and local politician. The daughter of Daniel Meinertzhagen (VI), a banker, and his wife Georgina née Potter (sister of Beatrice Webb), in 1900 she married Bernard Harpur Drake, a solicitor. During the First World War she campaigned for the women who had taken on men's jobs during the conflict to be given the same pay and conditions as their male counterparts. In 1934 Labour took majority control of the county council, and she was chosen to serve as an alderman. She held the seat until 1946.
