Craig Hinton is a defender who originally joined Rovers in 2004 from Kidderminster Harriers, where he had spent almost his entire career up to that point, making over 200 league appearances in six years. He spent a total of five years at Rovers, playing 153 league games and scoring three times, before being released by the club in the summer of 2009. He returned to Rovers in 2011 as caretaker-assistant manager under temporary boss Stuart Campbell, who had requested that Hinton join him to help with coaching duties, and especially to be in charge on the bench while Campbell was playing.
