Crossbows of Hephaestus were crossbows used by Hera's Archers. The essence of a given archer was bound to her crossbow, and if the string was cut, the archer would be banished until the bow could be repaired. The crossbows bore a bird motif, with the main body of the crossbow resembling an eagle's head and feathers.
