Musical Theatre is Serious Business. There's a lot of drama. And given that it's musical theatre, it's intense drama with a great soundtrack. So logically the angry mob with Torches and Pitchforks get their own Crowd Song about how much they want to Burn the Witch. If there's a public execution about to take place, you'll hear the same mob singing. La Résistance also commonly get their own song, which falls under this trope since a lot of revolutions in theatre are angry mobs with a political agenda. Expect this to sound like a military march, or at least have a fife and some snaredrums.
