The Plea for the Dead is a Klingon ritual that is conducted during mid-day and consists of a prayer in memory of the deceased who have left the world for Sto-Vo-Kor. This plea is to honor the ancestors of the Klingon and acknowledge the sacrifices they made in their lives. To not do so would insult the memories of the dead and would deny them their rest in the afterlife. (VOY episode: "Prophecy")
