Synopsis
| - Kilowog thanks John for his efforts, and prepares to present the new recruits to the Guardians of the Universe, and John decides to go back to work on the Mosaic.
- Kilowog calls in John Stewart to lecture the new recruits for the Green Lantern Corps on the subject of discipline. John suggests that rather than teach the new recruits cooperation and tolerance, he should redirect their violence and anger in such a way that the Corps continues to stand as a unit, despite the fact that the members don't get along.
- Eventually, they call on each other for help, claiming that they both could easily defeat the other's foe - so they try it. After coming out of it, the two realize, as John states, that they depend on each other to fill in the blanks in their lives. Boodikka even flirts with Kreon to the extent that they leave the earshot of the rest of the Corps.
- John performs a mind scan on Boodikka and Kreon, the two new Lanterns who get along the least. He places them on an alternate plane of reality, where he forces them to fight their fears. Boodikka fears men and their chains of reason, while Kreon fears strong sexually aggressive women. Both find themselves entrapped by their fears, and John warns that they will die if they cannot defeat their fear.

quotation
| - We GLs say we're without fear. But the fears are only bottled up. When the cork is popped, they hit us hard.
