The Worker's Party of Austria (German: Arbetarspartei Österreich), commonly referred to simply as the AP, was a hard-right, German nationalist conservative party active in Austria from 1923 until it was formally disbanded in 1969 and merged with the National People's Party. The party's platform was one of full employment for ethnic Germans, the empowerment of the central government in Vienna, anti-Semitism, militarization, a German national identity for Austrians and secular social conservatism. It is best known as being the party of Adolf Hitler, the party's leader from 1937 until his death in 1951 and the War Chancellor of Austria during World War II.
