The Hotel Scholz is a five-star hotel located in Atlantis, the capital of Diadochia. It is famous for the specialty of the house, the Scholztorte, a chocolate cake with apricot filling. There is also an art gallery in the hotel with works from the 19th century. The hotel was founded in 1871 by a German restaurateur and hotelier named Edward Scholz (1838-1887). His father Franz Scholz (1811-1897) had been a world famous confectioner and restaurateur. Edward was for a time an apprentice at the pastry shop Despines, and in 1868 he opened his first restaurant.
