The Clan Gao-Ri are considered one of the six noble Gao-Showa Clans. Their History is somewhat obscure compared to the other clans as their is little mention of them in earlier Gao-Showa tales and history, apparently appearing early in the second millenium. Several suggestion have been made to their origins. Their clan name is strange and is noted for it's simmilarity to Gao-Showa and Gao-Soto. This is because Gao-Showa translates as the the Blessed Tribes, Gao-Soto translates as the Blessed Land and Gao-Ri Translates as "the Blessed Sea" or "of the Blessed Sea". It has been suggested by some that the Gao-Ri are descended from traders or explorers from Indrala adopted into Gao-Showa society. Both theories are unproven at the present time.
