| - Long ago, Megatron was Jolt, an Autobot who lived on Cybertron after the end of the Machine Wars. He, like Optimus Prime many years before him, worked in the Iacon Hall of Records, where he discovered much about the history of the Decepticons, and slowly he became brainwashed by this knowledge and began to desire power, and that greed then consumed. Changing his name to Megatron, he gathered a group of rebels from across Cybertron and had them storm the capital Building, where the Autobot High Council sat. The rebellion failed, however, and the Decepticon band was captured and imprisoned. All but one.

The one remaining member, Wasp, planned the escape of his master and allies. When the time came for the group to be transported from their Cybertron custody to a prisoner outpost on Earth's moon, Wasp made preparations to intercept the ship. However, during their breakout, the Decepticons were interrupted by a team of Maximal scientists, who were onboard their passing ship. A firefight ensued before Megatron ordered the ship to rammed into the Maximals and they collided, before a fantastic falsh of white light consumed them both. They both crash landed on the prehistoric Earth below, where Megatron decided to take on the forms of Earth's creatures, just as the Maximals had. Megatron himself took on the alternate form of a tyrannosaurus-rex, and dubbed himself and his team of criminals Predacons.
