The Reichstag meeting on September 19, 2009 they decided to adopt an official flag for der Republik. The Präsident requested a flag that stood for what the country stood for as well. It was about five in half hours later when an acceptable flag was decided upon. The flag’s colors would be as follows; Black, Red, and Gold. When this very flag was presented to the Präsident, Victor A. Ernst, he’d asked what the colors stood for. The Reichstag then stated “Black, for the unification of our mighty country! Red, for the lost souls for which we’ve lost in combat! And Gold, for the golden light of freedom!” The Präsident was indeed ecstatic to hear of such words and that day declared this the flag of Der Deutsch Republik.
