Lord Darren Sindral was born on Yril in 35 BBY, the son of a local farmer. He spoke out against the injustices he perceived to exist within the Confederacy, and in 15 BBY he was elected Senator of Yril, only 20 years old. He served two terms in the Confederate Senate before being chosen as Lord Advisor to President Piel Tomanns. When Tomanns retired, the new President, Anton Millard, decided to keep Sindral on as Lord Advisor. Sindral was instrumental in the rise of Joran Thorn, and became a close friend of Thorn. He used his considerable political clout to Thorn's advantage many times.
