The Tamarisk Tree (whose species is known as tamarix or salt cedar) is an enormous tree, under which Set hid Osiris' head. It makes its appearance in the A Long Way From Home scenario in the Fall of the Trident campaign in Age of Mythology. It is found in a desert oasis, and must be chopped down in order to uncover the dead god's head. Only Laborers can kill the great tree, by chopping down its trunk, one hitpoint per chop; even if Thoth's Meteor is invoked on the tree, it will remain safe and sound, thanks to its gigantic HP, combined with its near absolute resistances.

Chiron, assisted by Norse warriors, led by a Jarl named Niordsir, and some Egyptian nomads, eventually manages to fight back against local Mummies and Gargarensis' forces, and chop down the great tree, thus securing the dead god's head.
