Manticore The manticore is a medieval heraldic beast from Persia. It has the body of a lion, the face of a man (sometimes a lion), with many rows of sharp teeth and a scorpion's tail. Sometimes has dragon like wings. A manticore's sting is instantly fatal and victims die a prolonged painful death. The beast eats its victims alive while softly crooning to them as they are said to sing very well. Despite being sapient and capable of speech, manticores weren't considered applicable for the right of beings because of their violent primeval behaviour.
