Synopsis
  • Nightwing and Flamebird investigate the death of a man on a televised program.
  • On the trail of Ed’s nephew Tommy, Ed and Krypto encounter a killer.
  • The Newsboy Legion tells Jimmy Olsen that they are in search of the Golden Guardian, who has vanished. The trail leads Jimmy and the Newsboys to Mal Duncan, the current Golden Guardian and former Teen Titan, whose fellow member Karen Beecher is being held hostage by the Flamesplasher Twins, old enemies of the Titans.
  • Lois goes undercover to ferret out a babynapping ring.
  • Kendall Kent, Clark’s wealthy adoptive uncle, has only a few months to live and wishes to leave his money to either Clark or his niece Jillian, but someone is attempting to kill Kendall before the will can be completed.
  • Supergirl hears on a TV news report that an old friend from Stanhope College, Rudi Clement, has apparently blown up his home in a gravitational experiment. When she goes to check on him, she discovers he has become the Gravitronic Man, master of the force of gravity. Clement rails at an absent foe, "Tain", and causes gravitic disruptions that throw Supergirl and other people and anything not tied down into the air. Meanwhile, in England, the new Doom Patrol is trying to cope with a similarly-powered gravity-disrupting menace, the Gravity Lord, who is crushing them with increased gravity. Unknown to all, the disembodied intelligence is behind both villains' schemes.
  • The Seeker, a sentient spacecraft, has been sent on a mission to find a suitable world for Kryptonian emigration and prepare it for other Kryptonians. Even though the planet Krypton has long since exploded, the Seeker continues to Earth, which it plans to terraform as programmed--and, when Superboy tries to stop it, the Seeker targets him for destruction.
