Eduardo Alberto Duhalde (born October 5, 1941) is an Argentinean politician currently serving as President of the Party of the New Movement. He previously served as President of Argentina from 2000 to 2004, when he was defeated by Raúl López in that year's Presidential election, and was the Vice President of Argentina under Carlos Menem, his predecessor. In 2007, he left the Party of Social Justice, of which he had been a lifelong member, after disagreeing with their leftward drift, starting his "true Peronist" Party of the New Movement. He was the PMN's candidate for President in 2008 and 2012.
