- A Holiday resource area is basically an area in your city landscape that would attract tourists. These areas can include natural features, like a beautiful beach or mountain, or a man-made marvel, like a Megastructure. The first type appears predefined on the map, like Fuel, Water and Arable land, while the second can be created in any city via the accumulation of Landmark effects and good quality of life in an area. It is also important to note that the Holiday areas can be destroyed, if the quality of life drops sufficiently. Also, the natural Holiday zones have a higher starting value of quality of life than general. So, while the Holiday resource area is mostly predefined on the map, it is also possible to create it via construction and maintaining good conditions in an area.

Thyr's celebrations are held on the last day of every month. On this day, grievances are brought before the King/Mayor/Lord/Haku, and resolutions are sought. This usually co-incides with church-going and a general dressy atmosphere, as people try to not look too shabby in front of their Lord.

A Rule for Holidays: In order to avoid residents randomly creating a holiday for every day of the year, the following rule should be observed. The holiday must be publically agreed upon by several residents or the holiday must be publically agreed upon by the public at large. Examples: Hippo Day, agreed upon by several residents, and Talk Like A Pirate Day, accepted by people across the globe. Holidays added to this list that do not show proof of their acceptance (i.e. forum link, website link) will be removed.

(The only reason this is considered a less luck day to get engaged is because of Bella's hesitance to actually do so. That's why we consider the Festival of Edward & Bella a luckier day; that day she actually realizes how much she wants to marry him. Silly girl. because it involves Edweird. That's why we consider Easter a luckier day; good things happened that day.) June 20th~ Edward's Fuckwad's Feast; Edward's birthday. (What? No description, whatsoever.) August 13th~ Festival of Edward & Bella Deadward and Suella; The wedding bed-wetting day. In Cullenism, this is the best day to get engaged or married, considered the luckiest. September 10th~ Renesmee's Ronald McDonald's Feast; Renesmee's Hellspawn's birthday. In Cullenism, this is also a day we celebrate future possibilities The Rebellion of Satan, honoring the whole new world of futures that Renesmee opened with her arrival defiance of God represented by Lucifer's act. September 13th~ Bella's Urinella's Feast/Day of New Life Loads; Bella's Urinella's birthday. In Cullenism, this is also a day we celebrate transformation and change; kind of like our Spring Equinox. We honor new life and new possibilities celebrate cheese; kind of like a Spring Equinox, only nothing like one. We honor new life and new possibilities. In Cullenism, this is our day of atonement, assuaging our grief by making up for past wrongs of farting contests (inhaling our smells by eating lots of beans) and the day that we shake off the nagging feelings of intellectual retardation through self-deception. December 25th~ War Riot Day; This is the day where Cullenists renew their vows to smite congratulate those who oppose Meyer. December 29th~ Confrontation Confectionary Day; The day of the final debate battle between the Cullens and their allies and the Volturi. It is on this day in which Cullenists engage in debates meaningless banter flame-wars with non-believers sane individuals. Enjoy! :P

A formal occasion, but generally looked forward to by those who need more justice in their lives. This holiday coincides with the council meeting, which is after all just another part of the idea of finding resolutions to common problems. Muir's celebration is on the eve of battle, generally a light fast (before a big breakfast) and an abstinence from distractions like alcohol or light entertainment. On Confirmation day (A day where a new batch of paladins undergo their rites), the opposite is observed. Food is plentiful, and there are normally displays such as jousting, knife throwing or archery competitions Vanitthu doesn't believe in ceremonies, since his faithful are usually in charge of organising and guarding such things, they see no reason to make more work for themselves. Rather, celebrations in Vanitthu's name involve going to the pub and celebrating successes in guarding, such as arresting a dangerous criminal, or surviving a melee. Freya oversees the harvest feasts, as well as the celebrations after a successful hunt (such as the Draygonsfel). Arden's followers once held celebrations during eclipses, but those days are long gone. Telephos, the Lord of Crops and Seasons would seem a more logical candidate for harvest feasts, but his followers )and holy books) frown on celebrations that thank gods for the results of man's labor. Rather, Telephos's celebration is held on the first thaw and first frost of the year, recognising the role the elements play in man's struggle. Their parties aren't very much fun.
