The McLaren MP4/9 was the car used by the McLaren-Peugeot team for the 1994 season. The car was raced by Mika Häkkinen, Martin Brundle and Philippe Alliot. The MP4/9 proved to be unsuccessful, with the reliability problems hampering the team due to the Peugeot A4 engine. It was replaced by the Peugeot A6 after a few rounds. In late 1994, McLaren cut their partnership with Peugeot and signed a long-term deal with Mercedes. The team came fourth in the championship with the car, helped by a string of podiums by Häkkinen in the second half of the season.
