The 1961-41 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at South Boston Speedway on August 27, 1961. Jim Reed led the first 32 laps, but it was Junior Johnson in charge of the last 168 circuits, holding off Reed by one lap for the victory. Ned Jarrett finished behind the duo in 3rd, another solid finish that would eventually lead to the 1961 championship. Stats
