Riss is the Fortune Teller of the Viper Clan. A willing follower of Duv and her cause, he enjoys watching others suffer. Unlike Young and Beautiful, Riss does not name newborn clan members based on his visions of their future. His visions of Grem's men dying attempting to locate the Orb of Bloodlight in the Well of Darkness led him to choose an alternative course of action. The same vision showed that if Dies Horribly, Saves a Fox, and K'seliss went after the Orb alone, they would also succeed in locating and returning the Orb, though Dies and K'seliss would both die as a result.
