He has made multiple attempts to represent his country at Eurovision, and eventually did represent Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev with the self-composed song Stop. He finished 12th in the semifinal, failing to qualify for the final. That same year, he released his first album entitled Omar. He then entered EMA again in 2009 and 2011, and also entered the 2016 Swiss selection. He returned to Kiev to represent Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song On My Way and failed to qualify again, finishing second-last in the first semifinal.
